this is probably the longest ive spent on a photoshop drawing... or any drawing as it is. i cheated and outlined from the reference when i started. its just so much more difficult to sketch in photoshop than on paper. did solid blocky coloring, than i used a sandstone texture for the skin, 19% solid paintbrushes for the details and fine points and shading, and smudge brush for most everything else.

ill actually work on his hand one of these days. i never bothered with it yet.

(edit: the hair above the forehead, his right eye-lashes and the hand still bother me)

While I don't know who this is, it really doesn't matter, just thought I would throw it out there. Let me start by saying the eyes, are amazing. Simply amazing, you should be proud. Overall I like it as well, though I don't know if I like the texture much, it doesn't seem very realistic and I think your coloring skills aren't as obvious in those areas. The only other thing that bothers me is how shiney the jacket is, though I realize it is that shiney in the picture. ANYWAY, nice nice work.

OMFG i wanna tap that... fabulous job, the shadowing is fabulous, as is the texture and tone. its a big offcenter which originally threw me off but its still lovely!

I love the work you've put onto the left arm of the jacket, tho I wonder why you didn't continue for the right arm... Looks unfinished. But great details on the eyes, hand and hair :D

:omg: My heart seriously skipped a beat when I saw this. That face is unbelievable!

The sandstone texture makes the hand look too much like a photomanip for me--too flat, especially next to that incredible face where you left pieces of the brush show. I love the texture of the jacket, but the black/gray makes it so flat! What about using warm/cool hints to help certain areas pop/recede?

Those lashes are to die for! :drool:

yeah, its definately not done.. i guess thats a point i forgot to mention. i need to blend the porous look in, and work on just about everything but the features yet. i am proud of the eyes, they turned out just how i wanted them, though they dont quite match the guy. but thats not worth saying.
